U18 Girls at Ellesmere Port

62 - 12 defeat for us today against a very strong, organised, well drilled opposition, it was a step up again from last week's Leigh game. I hold my hat's off to them, cos we didn't play badly at all. Defence from both sides was Ffion first game at hooker with competitive scrummaging and she put in a massive shift in the loose leading the defensive line for a large part of the game, deservedly Girl of the Game. Tink growing in confidence at 9, was busy adding snipes and darts from scrum and ruck to her lengthening pass. Chloe and Meg formed a good centre pairing both getting through a lot of tackling as Ellesmere regularly sent their big forwards down 13 channel. Keri dependable on the wing as ever in defence rarely received the ball in attack.

At the break we were only two tries behind, but as Ellesmere brought on fresh legs, ours leadened up and a late flurry of tries saw the scoreline rise. Playing 12-a-side for 70 minutes is a workout in itself.
Well done girls you're continuing to rise to the challenges. We're all looking forward to next week when Worcester visit Oswestry in the first round of the Area 5 cup. kick off 2pm.
